Peace With Losses
POEMS HELPS US FEEL!
These four poems are poems I wrote about feeling loss. I hope they might make you think, feel and reflect a little. I don’t want you to get too sad by reading them but I do want to acknowledge the love of friends and family and our wishes that those that have died may rest peacefully. Poetry helped me cope with sadness.
Some days are Rough
The mill dam
Harrison Park
The cemetery
All places to remember
Our family and friends
Those that have gone before us.
Some days are fine
Other days are rough
Holding it all in gets hard…
Expressing to a friend
Is such a relief!
The Willows Weep
The willows weep
The cedars hum
The maples hope
Others have been through this
But not everyone.
Crying and laughing
All have a place
When you feel better
You can smile and giggle,
When you feel sad
You feel restless
And like crying.
It’s a struggle
The feelings of loss
Dancing on the mind
Wish you were here.
Rest in peace.
We Know
There are times
When we know
There are times
When we know
There is an afterlife.
Sometimes…
It seems okay
I’m just seeing
Hope in my own
Journey of grief
Loss brings generous loving
Memories and connections.
Sometimes…
It seems okay.
Sorry For Your Loss
Sorry for your loss The words fail But the meaning is consoling
And the courage And the will to survive by doing the everyday tasks Are helpers for you as you remember some nice things
The day to day Life brings joys like the kind voices of friendship
After Loss
There are times when a flavoured coffee or warm herbal tea are so very good.
Sorry for your loss
Sometimes feeling loss means we felt love in our hearts
